Under the Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka scheme, steps have been taken to cover the cost of treatment for rare diseases to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries.

Under the Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka scheme, various diseases are covered by Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust. But some rare diseases are not covered under this scheme. Also, there is no treatment facility for such diseases in government hospitals. In such a case, treatment in private hospitals will have to be paid for.
In this background, Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust, which had prepared a list of treatments and costs, had submitted a proposal to the state government in this regard. The state government agreed to this proposal and issued an order. In addition to this, steps have been taken to identify cost-effective treatment methods and fix costs for them as well.
For this, 7.39 crore rupees under tribal sub-project, 15.79 crore under scheduled caste sub-project, totaling Rs 23.18 crore.
